Chaos Witch

-

These witches seek the destruction of all, seeing creation as an orderly thing.

This is supposed to be an AE witch type to replace the clerics in the cults of chaos from Ptolus and Chaositech.

Additional Class Skills

- Intimidate and Craft(Chaositech)

Witchery

- Chaos Witches gain the sturdy feat, as their body becomes more chaotic and doesn’t act normally any more, making them more resilient. Also, the Chaos Witches wis modifier counts as a bonus rather than a penalty for any checks that deal with chaositech. Their wisdom comes from insane insight, as opposed to being in tune with the world.

Witchery Spellcasting

- Chaos Witches automatically gain the Wild Mage feat and gain access to all spells with the negative energy descriptor. Whenever they cast spells some effect happens, but due to the chaos this effect differs from one Chaos Witch to the next. The player or DM should create an effect for the witch, and probably should make it alien, bizarre, and possibly disturbing.  This extra effect should be purely cosmetic.

Witchery Lord

- Critical hits only have a 50% chance to work on chaos witches, as at random times chance seems to get in the way.

Witchery Manifestations

-

Chaos Blade

- This representation of a blade doesn’t actually look like a blade at all. Instead it is a flail that is constantly changing. The handle changes to a chain, to the handle, to almost a staff in length and back. The chains change to fine chains, to huge bulky clinks, to even rope sometimes. The heads of the flail changes from spiked, to round spheres, to blades, even daggers sometimes. Over all the weapon never stays the same. Functionally it acts like a flail of small medium or large size. It also gains +1 to damage +1 per 2 witch levels. To determine the element of the damage roll an 8 sided die. This only needs to be rolled once per encounter. 1-water, 2-earth, 3-wind, 4-fire, 5-cold-, 6-acid, 7-lightning, 8-sonic.

Chaos Fire

- This attack shoots out raw chaos, an ever changing substance that dissolves everything it touches. It deals 1d20 per 6 witch levels, with a fortitude save (10+1/2witch level+ wis modifier) for half. The witch can use this a number of times per day equal to her wisdom modifier.

(

If you do the math 1d20 averages out to 10.5, and 3d6 averages out to the same, so while it starts strong it doesn’t start with the 2d6 bonus, and has about the same damage progression)

Song of Madness

- The target of this witchery must make a will save (10+1/2witch level+ wis modifier) or be dazed. This effect lasts 1 round per witch level, with another will save every round thereafter with a DC of the original +1 per round affected. The target sees terrible things while hearing a song of madness. If the target succeeds on the save after the first round she is shaken for the rest of combat. Chaos cultists like to use this spell to drive others insane. Those affected by this spell more than twice per day must make a will save or suffer 1 point of wisdom drain. This spell can be used a number of times per day equal to the Chaos Witches wis modifier.

Spirit of Chaos

- Chaos infuses the Chaos Witches spirit, driving her to new levels of fury. A Chaos Witch can use this a number of times per day equal to her wis modifier. When possessed by the Spirits of Chaos she enters one of two furors, chosen when she casts this manifestation.

The

furor of the mind

grants the witch a +2 insight bonus to wis and makes all her spells cast at +2 caster level. Every round the witch must cast a spell or use a manifestation, and if unable spends a standard action screaming in frustration.

The

furor of the body

is different. The chaos witch gains a +2 insight bonus to str, con, and dex, and gains the ability to transfer spells into chaos damage that aids her normal attacks. The chaos witch when in a furor of the body can sacrifice a spell slot as a standard action to make a touch attack that deals d6 damage per spell level sacrificed. The witch can make a normal attack using the touch attack, but if she does so the extra damage is only dealt on an actual hit. Every round while in the furor of the body the witch must attack, or spend a standard action screaming in frustration.

Both furors last a number of rounds equal to the witches Wis modifier (the improved one in the furor of the minds case).

Call of the Chaos Storm

- Chaos Witches who use this spell create a hazardous area. Everything in the area starts warping, and small bits of raw chaos start appearing. The strength of this effect depends on the chaos witch level. Once per day the witch can start this with a standard action. This chaos area covers a 100 feet area centered on the witch. Everyone in the area suffers 1d6 points of damage +1 point of damage per witch level, although a fort save (10 + 1/2 Witch level + Wis modifier) reduces this damage by half. This storm lasts 1 round +1 round per 3 witch levels (up to 5 rounds).

Word of Chaos

- The chaos witch can once per week create raw chaos, which must immediately be used to restore the power of a chaositech device. The raw chaos can only restore a device that’s price is less than the witch’s level squared x 500. So a second level witch could restore a device that costs 2000, while a 20th level witch could restore a device that costs less than 200,000. The craft(chaositech) DC’s must still be made, although the siphon spell doesn’t need to be used.
